I love a good teriyaki bowl but I don't get to eat them very often. Most, if not all teriyaki sauces have gluten in them so they are a no no for my belly. Earlier this week I was craving, craving, craving something asian and wanted something I hadn't had in a while. We then jumped in the car and drove over to Sunflower Market. We found a great tasting teriyaki sauce ( gluten free ) and built our meal around that.
Things you will need to make this version, but of course grab any type of veggies and meat you like..... or tofu if you don't eat meat....
1) Chicken
2) Gluten Free Teriyaki Sauce
3) Water Chesnuts
4) Asparagus
5) Green Onions
6) Minced Garlic ( 1 tbs )
7) Jasmine White Rice ( 1 cup )
In a pot add 1 cup jasmine rice and 2 cups water. Let boil. When done boiling turn burner to low until done.
Pan fry the chicken in a pan on both sides with olive oil and the minced garlic until fully cooked. Once this is done cut the chicken into cubes. Add in sauce ( I eyeball it, so I can't give you an exact amount, say about a cup... ) Let this simmer for a few minutes. Cut the green onions and asparagus into smaller pieces ( your choice on size ) and then throw them in. Add water chesnuts and lets all cook together for about 10-15 more minutes. Then grab your closest bowl and pile the yummy deliciousness right in :) Yummmm!!!!!
