Last night it was my boyfriend's 25'th birthday and it was a complete BLAST! We went to his favorite Mexican restaurant here in Salt Lake City, The Red Iguana, and once we were full enough to pop we ventured to the bar and had the most fun with all of our closest friends.
I decided to wear an outfit that would be a little less subtle than what I normally wear and have more of an impact for the celebration of the night.
It amazes me how a scarf can add to a look. Without the scarf it would have been a very regular night on the town outfit, but the adding the scarf it made it an outfit that's making a statement.
To complete my get up I decided to go with my steve madden chunky wedges. GREAT choice with the white pants I decided to wear.
( These are one of my most favorite shoes in my collection, do you like too? )
I pulled my hair into a side bun and went with a very dramatic eye.
Now, on to the food- the best part I have been waiting to share...
THE RED IGUANA
I want to share with you the AMAZING mexican meal we had last night. I had to take pictures so I could get you to get your mouth watering and run to your nearest Mexican restaurant and if you reside in Salt Lake City, get you to go to the Red Iguana and have a date night!
Being gluten free, I find that Mexican food is the easiest food for me to find something to eat with the amount of corn tortillas they use. The plus as well, is that if the meal isn't made with corn tortillas you can swap them out with the flour one and the meal still tastes the same. I find you can't do that with all food groups.
My meal was chicken taco's. Simple, but that's all I need. I can't tell you how much I LOVE chicken taco's.....
( The best part was the massive amount of guacamole they serve the taco's with )
Dan's meal is something he ALWAYS gets. The Don Juan taco's. They are the best steak taco's I have ever had and I very much dislike steak.... so that says something!
YUMMM!
Now! Something I am going to share with you is something I never knew about until last night. It's not on the menu, but you can ask for a mole sampler and they will bring you out a plate with all of their mole types and you can taste them all. It's so fun, but my opinion..... mole is yuck. I'm sorry. I tried all the flavors and none really satisfied me, but it was fun and you should ask for your own plate next time you go...
Here's a picture of the birthday boy.... doesn't he look like he is having the best day of his life - ha!
What I hope you take away from this posting is the impact a really outstanding scarf can have on an outfit and how delicious Mexican food is...... it truly is my favorite type of food.... I could eat different variations of mexican dishes for every meal and be the happiest girl in the world. Posting these pictures made me think about dinner, which I hope is Mexican food again!
