I am a fanatic about changing my hair color. My brain is always thinking about what hair color I would like to have instead of the color on my head.... I'm serious, this NEVER stops.
Anyways, lately I have been thinking non stop about dying my hair brown, but I always get worried about the major transition from light to dark so I went online and found a certain color scheme that I love.
It's called "bronde," yes "bronde." It's a color that is a mix between brown and blonde, easy transition I thought.... and it was. Thank GOD!
Dying my hair is something I do often and have done for years. I can tell you the exact color to buy to do a certain color and certain look and I can easily guide a person who has jet black hair who wants to transition to a platinum blonde beauty ALL with box color you find at your local grocery store. It's true. People will tell you can't do it, but I have...many times.
When I was younger my mother would take me to get my hair colored at her favorite salon with her favorite hair dresser and I hated it. First off, my color NEVER came out to be the color I wanted and second any suggestion as " I want to go platinum blonde " when I was a medium brown hair color would be "no, that's not healthy for your hair." I know that, but that's what I want!!! Urg, always bothered me.... not to mention you always leave paying way more than you ever should..... ladies I know you all understand this frustration....some time or another..... ( right ? )
Anyways... lets get started....
What you will need:
- 2 boxes of what darker color you choose. ( I chose "light brown" ) Use only one box if hair isn't as light as mine.
- 1 box of a highlighting kit
** PS - don't judge me for my outfit choices, I don't want to ruin my normal clothes so I wear my rags**
Before:
Results after the first box color of brown.
I always buy two boxes of darker color because my blonde hair is so light. If I don't, the color comes out ashy.... as you can see.....
As you can see, the blonde is still coming though, this is why you need to use a second box if hair is really light.
After second brown box:
A darker brown result, a perfect color to work off of....
Now, if you are a hair stylist I am sure you are cringing at this point. Anyone who know's hair well will tell you to NEVER color your hair more than once in a day.... and yes, I will be dying it three times in one day. Ouch, but if you use a good conditioner your hair will be okay.... ( I hope ) mine was.
I wasn't able to grab a picture of my finished hair in time to do this blog so I am posting a picture from my weekend adventure to Denver to see a Red Wings game. Sorry it's in a hotel bathroom.... ha...bare with me.....
What do ya think?!?!?
I might add some extra highlights or add some darker lowlights, I'm not sure... but I'll let you know what I end up doing.... :)
Have fun with your hair ladies! Remember, it's HAIR! No matter what you do with it, it will always grow back and you can ALWAYS color correct any mistake you make.... you live once... so have a blast changing and mixing up your looks :)
