The life I live....

I'm a music lover who at the end of the day wants to feel as if she lived that day the best she could. Creating an amazing meal, hanging out with the amazing people I call friends, rocking out to some amazing tunes, buying a great piece of clothing or wearing bright pink lipstick..... Im optimistic about life and highlighting the moments that make it unique....

Not the best kind of day.....

Hi everyone, here is my sad attempt for a blog entry.
I didn't really put that much time or effort into my outift today, which sadly can  be seen.
I am so drained from school and work, I thought today would be my day off to do nothing but cuddle on the couch with my cat after work but I have a group project due tomorrow which I need to go back to school tonight and work on.... not to metion all the readings for my classes tomorrow...

Anyway's....
I think that this outfit could look a little better if my personality was a tad bit more perky, but today I just feel like a blob. A big blob.
I know that people all over the world have days like this, so this is why I chose to share my unforgiving self....

I tried to jazz it up a bit with a red lip.....hope it worked.
I hope you are all having a GREAT day and spendid night....
At least you don't have to go to the dentist in a few hours - another reason for my blah mood :(

Enjoy :)

Orange Cream

As people know I love cardigans and my past two outfits have been very simple and classic with a cardigan flare.

Orange

I paired my outfit with a GREAT seed necklace that a wonderful friend of mine gave me back in the day. The colors of the brown seeds with the middle colored beads really helps pull the outfit together.

I wore my simple and very comfortable sanuk shoes..

And finished with baby pink lips to match my baby pink bow....

Cream

This is a very simple outfit that gets it's fun and flirty style from my choice of boots.....

I chose to wear my mothers old cowboy boots with a fun pair of  wool socks.....
Remember, you can easily make a summer outfit a fall/winter look by adding tall socks and boots.

I chose a pair of gold leaf earrings to finish off the look....
I think that the gold matched my light colored boots and brown belt very well.....

I'm sorry so short, but school starts once again tomorrow after a wonderful Fall Break... I have way too much homework on the horizon.....
Enjoy!

Non-stop beauty in the mail!

The past day has been a blast for someone who loves make up and beauty products. I have received my Stila order and my Birchbox in the same 24 hours. It's been AWESOME! Let me share with you what I have opened and tested since I have gotten all of these beauty goodies.

STILA

I bought a foundation and a tinted moisturizer.

Bronzing tinted moisturizer in SPF 15.
This is a product I am very excited for. I love wearing bronzer, but sometimes I think I over due it. I like the idea that I can put this on a receive a little color before I even apply my foundation. I also love the idea that I can just wear this without any other make-up and it will still give me a nice healthy glow.

Here is how it looks:
( Before rubbed in )

Once its been rubbed in, it adds a hint of color with a tid bit of shimmer. I haven't used this directly on my face yet, and I hope this shimmer isn't too overwhelming. It doesn't seem as if it would be.

One Step Make Up in medium.
I am a fanatic about finding a great foundation that doesn't give you that makeup line look. This can easily happen if you don't get the right color, which is very easy to do. This makeup color however was PERFECT! It blended in with my skin tone to a tee.

I was a little worried at first when I saw how light the color was when I first applied, but once I started blending, it quickly disappeared to a perfect hue of my skin tone.

I'm very impressed and satisfied with my Stila purchases, I will be back to the website soon to order more products.

BIRCHBOX

I have never been SO thrilled in my life to receive anything in the mail as I was this. I looked in my mailbox everyday for the past week waiting for my little box of surprises to come and I was very excited to get what I did....

What's fun is they give you a little note card of everything they have sent you with how to use it and how much it is if you choose to buy the actual size.

Tinted Bronzing Primer.
This is what I am most excited for. As I have told you previously, I LOVE myself some bronzing skin color and I can't tell you enough how much I love primer. Primer is what you put on after your moisturizer but before your foundation. Its a magical product I tell you. It will make your face look flawless. If you have big pores as I do and some acne marks this is a MUST. Now, I don't use it everyday even though I should, but when I do I am thoroughly impressed. It fills in any lines and enlarged pores you have and covers acne marks superbly!

I'm not going to lie, the amount of sparkle does make me a little nervous, but a small amount of sheen helps with the appearance of imperfections on your face, so I think this will be a great addition to my make up collection.

I also got:

Befine Lip Exfoliator

Caudalie Vinoperfect Night Correction Cream

Oribe Shampoo and Conditioner for Color Treated Hair

Orofluido Beauty Elixir - Hair Treatment

I'm so excited to use all of my new products. What I love about Birchbox is that the samples are large enough that you can use them a few times to see if you like them. Sometimes you can get samples that are only good for one use and you can't tell if it would be something that you would use in the future. So this is more fun and more useful.

If you aren't signed up with Birchbox already, get on it. You're first box will be the November sample box. I can't wait to see what I will be treated to then!!!

DRESS DOWN DAY

I just wanted to add this little snippet about my lazy day outfit yesterday. I think that you can still look cute and put together in a very simple, very low key outfit. To my surprise I had so many people compliment me on my vest yesterday? To me, it's so plain and nothing special but to others it really made people think my outfit was cute - who knew?

I paired my simplicity outfit with my new Sperry boots that I am in LOVE with!

( Tops folded down )

( Tops folded up )

Vest: Roxy
Shirt: Macy's brand
Leggings: Vera Wang ( Kohls )
Boots: Sperry
Watch: Nixon

ENJOY :)

Celebration of 25 years!

Last night it was my boyfriend's 25'th birthday and it was a complete BLAST! We went to his favorite Mexican restaurant here in Salt Lake City, The Red Iguana, and once we were full enough to pop we ventured to the bar and had the most fun with all of our closest friends.

I decided to wear an outfit that would be a little less subtle than what I normally wear and have more of an impact for the celebration of the night.

It amazes me how a scarf can add to a look. Without the scarf it would have been a very regular night on  the town outfit, but the adding the scarf it made it an outfit that's making a statement.
To complete my get up I decided to go with my steve madden chunky wedges. GREAT choice with the white pants I decided to wear.

( These are one of my most favorite shoes in my collection, do you like too? )

I pulled my hair into a side bun and went with a very dramatic eye.

Now, on to the food- the best part I have been waiting to share...

THE RED IGUANA

I want to share with you the AMAZING mexican meal we had last night. I had to take pictures so I could get you to get your mouth watering and run to your nearest Mexican restaurant and if you reside in Salt Lake City, get you to go to the Red Iguana and have a date night!

Being gluten free, I find that Mexican food is the easiest food for me to find something to eat with the amount of corn tortillas they use. The plus as well, is that if the meal isn't made with corn tortillas you can swap them out with the flour one and the meal still tastes the same. I find you can't do that with all food groups.

My meal was chicken taco's. Simple, but that's all I need. I can't tell you how much I  LOVE chicken taco's.....

( The best part was the massive amount of guacamole they serve the taco's with )

Dan's meal is something he ALWAYS gets. The Don Juan taco's. They are the best steak taco's I have ever had and I very much dislike steak.... so that says something!

YUMMM!

Now! Something I am going to share with you is something I never knew about until last night. It's not on the menu, but you can ask for a mole sampler and they will bring you out a plate with all of their mole types and you can taste them all. It's so fun, but my opinion..... mole is yuck. I'm sorry. I tried all the flavors and none really satisfied me, but it was fun and you should ask for your own plate next time you go...

Here's a picture of the birthday boy.... doesn't he look like he is having the best day of his life - ha!

What I hope you take away from this posting is the impact a really outstanding scarf can have on an outfit and how delicious Mexican food is...... it truly is my favorite type of food.... I could eat different variations of mexican dishes for every meal and be the happiest girl in the world. Posting these pictures made me think about dinner, which I hope is Mexican food again!

Hump Day!

I love Wednesday's. It's the middle of the week and you can finally start looking into your weekend :) Just a few more days..... we can do it!

Lately, I have been listening a lot to a certain artist by the name of Feist. She is amazing. She has put out a few albums, but her brand new album is just SOOOO good! I cannot stop listening. This is my favorite song from the new album:

Beautiful, isn't it?

My Wednesday outfit is one I have shown previously, except today I chose to complete the look with a pair of high heeled boots, always fun. I think that a high heeled boot can always change up an outfit, no matter what you choose to wear.

What do you think? I love them. I have also found that high heeled boots are much more comfortable than wearing a normal heel. I wonder why this is? If you don't have a pair, you should buy a pair for this winter. They are just so fun to wear....as you can tell, I have told you so many times through out this posting....

To make my look more casual
I decided to put my hair into a side bun and pull my bangs back with a simple loose braid.....

I also wore my favorite new lipstick color that I blogged about the other day... " Think Pink."
I love the light and brightness of the color...

Thanks again everyone for looking at my blog.... I had over 400 views JUST yesterday! You all make my blog worth while! I'm just so thankful. I hope that you leave this post today and buy the new Feist album and a pair of HIGH HEELED BOOTS to complete your wardrobe!!!!!
