The life I live....

I'm a music lover who at the end of the day wants to feel as if she lived that day the best she could. Creating an amazing meal, hanging out with the amazing people I call friends, rocking out to some amazing tunes, buying a great piece of clothing or wearing bright pink lipstick..... Im optimistic about life and highlighting the moments that make it unique....

Just sharing....

My post today are just things I would like to share.
You can choose to read on or stop right here ( for your sake I'm sure. )

Music.
2011 I thought was a great year for new music.
There are some albums that I hadn't listened to fully but had GREAT songs on them, but I felt like I would be a cheat if I put them on here without actually listening to them completely.
These however, I have listened from front to back and enjoy so much I listen to them on repeat often.
1) Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
2) Bon Iver - Bon Iver
3) Other Lives - Tamer Animals
4) Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials
5) Fiest - Metals
6) Adele- 21

Movies.
I personally didn't think that 2011was a great year for movie's, not like 2010...
2010, man oh man, some of my most favorite movies came out that year...
Sadly I thought 2011 was kind of a disappointment.
I could only come up with 3 that I would truly see again...
( From the movie's I chose to see of course )
1) 50/50 *One of my favorite movies of all time*
2) Bridesmaids
3) Moneyball
4) ( Kind of ). Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
 * This movie was good, but truthfully it was too much for me to handle. Too graphic and way too disturbing.*

Shows.
I went to a crazy amount of shows this year.
Live shows are something that are indescribable.
You can see a band for who they are and see how musically talented they truly are.
I get butterflies thinking about seeing my favorite bands live.
That is also something I am proud to say, is that I have seen almost every single one of my favorite bands live. Not all people can say that, yet it's also is the cause to the depletion of my bank account.
Well worth it however.
My favorite shows of 2011:
1) Other Lives
2) Fleet Foxes
3) Arcade Fire with Local Natives
4) Iron and Wine
5) Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
6) Explosions in the Sky
7) The Decemberists
8) Menomena

This is an album cover I couldn't stop staring at.
I just love it.
It reminds me of camping in the summer time.
It really gives me an excited peaceful feeling.

The song, All or Nothing, from this album is great too.....

This is a recipe that intrigues me.... quite A Lot!

My favorite go to nail color:

I am also interested in extensions.
I LOVE this look with the colors but I also think I just want some regular ones.
I used to think negatively about them, but ladies as a friend of mine and I say....
"It's just another fashion accessory."

What are your thoughts on spray tans?
I used to be an AVID fake baker. Its was horrible. I went everyday. I was addicted.
I am happy to say I haven't been in a bed for almost 1.5 years but I do miss the tan skin.
I haven't ever really tried spray tan, but I want to.
I need a little glow.

I'm thinking this SUDDEN urge of wanting tan skin comes from my constant watching of Jersey Shore - ha. Of course I don't want the Oompa Loompa look, but they talk about a "bronzer in a can" that they always spray upon themselves that is very interesting to me.
I started looking into this carefully and found a product that seems like it would be worth the money.
Has anyone used this product before?

Let me know if anyone has any feed back. I always love trying new products or new styles....
Love you all!
XOXO.

Bringing in the New Year on a Budget.

I am the queen of shopping on a budget.
I wish I could buy $100 dollar jeans or a $250 jacket or even a $50 cardigan.
But I can't and honestly I refuse.
Two reasons:
First off, I'm a student and work part time with no help from the parents.
I make little to no money and can't spend a paycheck on one item of clothing.
Second, I get bored of clothes VERY quickly.
I would rather buy a cheap clothing piece so when I get rid of it a few months later I don't feel guilty.
Also with cheaper alternatives you can try pieces you normally wouldn't.
Through out my years I have found out that you can look good no matter what price you pay.
Of course you are paying for the quality when buying expensive but like I have said no need for me there. I do a full closet cleaning of clothes every few months....because of boredom, so quality means less for me...
One day however I hope to be able to afford nice things, but until then, I'm happy with the clothing choices I make today :)

This whole outfit cost me less than $50.
White Shirt: TJ Maxx.
Sweater: Kohl's
Pants: F21
Shoes: Payless
Watch: Kohl's
Earrings: Wet Seal

I am excited for this year to begin.
I was worried with school starting next week, but I'm here to inform you I'm now excited.
This weekend I changed my major. Yep. It's true. I only had 7 classes left to take ( 5 I am taking this semester ) but was told last week I couldn't get any funding in the summer when I would finally graduate.
With the news I realized I wouldn't graduate till Fall and with that, I decided to change my major into something I am more passionate about.
Interpersonal Speech Comm.
It's the most PERFECT major for me.
It's directed towards non-profit, small business and fund raising.
After crying my eyes out knowing I would have to wait longer to have a degree, I am now thankful.
I have to take two extra classes, but it will be well worth it.
I would rather spend more time in school ending with something I am passionate about instead of graduating sooner with a degree that doesn't spark my interest.

After this change I have a new perspective on this up and coming year.
I won't let anything defeat me.
I will find the good and positive in everything and by doing this everything will work out for the better.
At the end of the day I have to be proud that I have never given up and now after years of changing majors I have finally settled on one that I know will bring me the most happiness.
It's quite a feeling.

Love you All!!!
XOXO.

01 January 2012

Bring it on 2012!

Last night was an amazing New Years Eve....
It wasn't as crazy as years prior, but it was the perfect amount of nonsense and foolery, and if you can believe it or not I was SOBER!

Dan and I started out the night so casual.
We played a few rounds of boggle and made a delicious and hearty meal to end the year off right.
We took our merry time and got to our New Years Eve party around 10:30...
Just enough time to mingle and giggle before the ball dropped.

All I can say, is I am one lucky girl to be blessed with the amazing friends I have.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about that, and it's amazing to start off a new year with them all in my life.
2011, brought me closer to friends I already had in my life and brought around a great compilation of new ones.

Dress: F21. Tights: F21. Boots: Ross. Earrings: Wet Seal.

Some things I want to do in 2012:

Triathlon.

Go to Tibet, or help raise money for Tibet.

Scuba Dive.

Camp along the coast of California.

Need I say more?

Take cooking classes.

Learn Guitar.

I mean, to be honest... the list could go on, and on, and on...
I think it's so important to set some realistic goals for you to conquer in the new year.
I don't believe in the "I'm going to lose 10 pounds" goals...
I believe in " I'm going to change my life around by exercising more, eating healthier and changing my lifestyle."

I love you all. Thank you so much for everyone who reads my blog.
I'm going to try and put more effort and creativity into Whimsy Blonde in 2012...
So.. get ready!

Love.
XOXO.
