The life I live....

I'm a music lover who at the end of the day wants to feel as if she lived that day the best she could. Creating an amazing meal, hanging out with the amazing people I call friends, rocking out to some amazing tunes, buying a great piece of clothing or wearing bright pink lipstick..... Im optimistic about life and highlighting the moments that make it unique....

"Shake it Out....."

"And our love is pastured such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues strong
But it's always darkest before the dawn"

I have been obsessed with the new "Florence and the Machine" Album "Ceremonials" lately. Every song on the album is life changing. However, the song "Shake it Out" is a song that I can't get out of my head. The beat is unstoppable to your feet and head. it's addicting and an addiction I am not giving up. After listening to the lyrics it plays even more with my emotions more than ever....

Listen to Shake it Out... if you feel the need to put yourself in an incredible enlightening mood. Personally I think the song is so courageous.

Today was a great day full of laughs with my friends and I can't say that much gets better than that. I am so thankful I have such great minded people that surround me.

A great laugh was surrounded a little "alien" cat as I call him whom my friends decorated with festive antlers.... he wasn't too pleased by this maneuver but with being the smallest mammal in the home he had to deal.

No matter what happens to you, at the end of the day just "Shake it Out"....
From the love of my friend Nick.... Cheers :)
Love you all!!!

XOXO.

Magic nails on a magic Monday.....

I am not a very creative person when it comes to my nails. Not saying I don't want to be. I' m just not.
Posted all over the Internet you see all of these ideas for nail art and some of the details really blow me out of the water. It's truly art.

As most know, the more something sparkles the more the light bulb in my head goes off and something happens magically inside my spirit. I get giddy. Happy. Excited. Sparkles are my drug of choice.

Last night I thought of a past idea that I was too lazy to try and figure out prior to this creative mind time I was feeling at this moment. Even though very simple on the nail art train it really took some motivation. Once the first nail was done I was hooked, my child like spirit craved more and more light reflecting specks....
I took my mint nail polish and rummaged through one of my cabinet's where I remembered I stashed bottles of glitter for previous art projects. I put a coat of my mint polish on and dusted the Martha Stewart glitter all over my freshly polished nails let dry and put a clear coat over the glitter pieces... and.... WAHLAH!!!!

Girls.....Hello! I'm in love. All I can do it stare at my fingers all day. I'm mesmerized.

A perfect pair of nails to go with a festive outfit fit for....well.... me.

Now off I go back to work with my favorite tea of the season....
Yummoooo as Rachel Ray would say....

Red Lipstick and Over Sized Cardigans....

I know I already posted this morning, but I just love Sunday's. They are my favorite day of the week I would have to say. Sadly tomorrow is Monday and the week begins again,  but like I have said in the past it's the only day I get to be lazy and spend the day roaming around town with my boyfriend. We only get one day a week that we both have off, so I do cherish the time we spend together.

We went to breakfast at a place both of us have only been to once, it was delicious....
We will be going more often.
We shared stories of our passions about life and the many trips we want to take around the globe over cup after cup of coffee....
It was beautiful....

Another day with red lipstick. And over sized cardigans.

Pants: Nordstrom Rack
Cardigan: TJ Maxx
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack
Watch: Ripcurl
Glasses: Rayban

Today I decided I would also raid some second hand stores. This is a hobby I haven't done in years, but decided "what he hell.." and found some great finds for less than 30 dollars.....

After high school I found myself afraid of places like this. Of course they can be odd at times, but I feel with thrift stores you allow yourself to get creative. With such cheap prices you can find yourself trying things you normally wouldn't. Not always will you find a treasure, but when you do it's always worth the time you spent searching isle to isle....

So ladies, I suggest going to your nearest second hand store and seeing what fun things you can find. I am a true believer in "someones trash is someone else's treasure...."

Happy Sunday!!!!!

Topsy Turvy.......

Lately I have been keeping up with many blogs and "The Daybook" has got to be my favorite right now. She is adorable and gives you great idea's of how to mix and match pieces to put together a truly different yet stylish outfit. I have also been on Pinterest way more than I should which always  puts new idea's in my head for new hair styles and make up choices to try.

When putting this outfit together I just looked in my closet and matched colors of two things I enjoyed, but wouldn't normally put together...

For years I have thought that it was forbidden to even mismatch patterns, colors and so forth. Since looking at fashion blogs and fashion magazines it's become a norm to mix and match. The more you do, the more fashionable it usually is.

With this is mind I put my outfit together....

A look that I have fallen in love with lately is this knee sock above your pants, or above a pair of tights. I would have never thought about this before I started looking into fashion. Something so simple, but never an idea I had prior....

Have fun today ladies. Remember, you can always make an outfit fun and flattering. Mix and match pieces in your wardrobe even when you think there is a possibly they may not go together.... you may be surprised with the outcome. And, ALWAYS remember, if you like it... that's all that matters. Don't be afraid to walk out of the door in something that you love even if others don't.... :) That's what fashion is all about....

Home Sweet Home....

Morning, Morning!
So, I have a had a few people ask about where I live and if I would ever post pictures of my apartment....
So today I did a deep clean an decided this should probably be the day if there ever was a day.

I am so lucky because I live with my boyfriend and he pretty much lets me do what I will when it comes to decorating. He knows I have always dreamt of being able to decorate my own place and he really lets my creativity flow....
It's a pretty girly apartment, but he enjoy it... he says " it very nice in here..." but we do have one exception.... no pink. I have listened to his wishes and never put pink in the house except a blanket in the living room, which he hates... but you can turn it around to red.

We both love colors so we did our best to make our apartment as colorful as we could. We love artwork, so we have lots of pieces in the house as well....

I wish the pictures I took were of better quality, but with the sun shining so bright today the photo's all came out a bit bright... hope you can still see what every thing is...

So..here we go....

LivingRoom

Fire Place.

Mantle.

Our library corner. We love to read books... ( can't wait to one day have a room full of books.)

We love going to shows. It's probably our favorite hobby to do together so we like to show our love of music in show posters....

Ski Corner. ( No all our stuff is out yet...)

( Lots of Powder Magazine in this house...)

Kitchen.

 My favorite painting.

Above the sink.

Can't really see, but this is the window in the kitchen and my FAVORITE gift I have ever received in my whole life is this glass blown globe that Daniel got for me last year in Vermont. It's beautiful.

I wish you could see the huge photo in the background on top of the fridge. It's a picture of the United States from space at night... it's amazing!

Bathroom.

This stuff on the end annoys Daniel to no end, but he lets me keep it. He thinks that I have to have something on every bare surface, and I think he is right.

Bedroom.

I love my bedroom because it's all window's and it lets in so much light.... Its such a relaxing place to hang out...

See, he still get's to put up his skateboarding posters :)

Hope you guys liked my APT! It's a fun place to live and we really live in the most prime part of the city... in the next week or so I will be decorating with Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree... so I'll keep you updated on that when it happens :)

Tootles!
