The life I live....

I'm a music lover who at the end of the day wants to feel as if she lived that day the best she could. Creating an amazing meal, hanging out with the amazing people I call friends, rocking out to some amazing tunes, buying a great piece of clothing or wearing bright pink lipstick..... Im optimistic about life and highlighting the moments that make it unique....

Western Retro.

Monday, oh Monday. The hardest day to get up and start your day knowing you are just beginning your week....
"Looks like someone has a case of the Monday's" seems to always play in my head on this day.
With that in mind, I don't usually take the most time to get ready. Put on a quick shirt and pants and I'm out the door, mainly because I slept in longer than expected and I'm running late.....
Today I decided to wear a shirt that I absolutely love, but don't wear very often. I sometimes feel that its too busy, but today I decided to go for it.
Its a hand me down from my sister that I have had for years. When I was little I would always ask to wear it and when I was old enough to appreciate it she gave it to me. I think this is a shirt I will honestly have forever. Not only do I love the way it looks, it has meaning to me.

I love that the buttons are pearls and the pattern of the shirt is so authentic.
It matched perfectly with my orange cardigan and really brought out the color of the roses.
I wasn't sure which way to wear this combo, so here are the two ways I would....

Shirt tucked out and cardigan closed....

Shirt tucked in and cardigan open....
Which way do you like better?

With the busy pattern of the shirt I went with a very simple green earring that matched with leaves off of the roses...

Now, this might have been a bold move but I thought that I would wear my sparkle shoes today. I really like the contrast of them when I wear my darker grey pants.....

Cardigan: Forever 21
Shirt: Hand me down ( I'm sure you could find something like this at a thrift store )
Pants: Levi's
Shoes: Rock Candy in Gold
Earrings: Nordstom Rack

I went with a very natural lip today. I was told by a co-worker that it really blends with my face color and looks very nice ( a complement I wasn't expecting to hear : ) )

You might also find this weird, but to get the natural color I use concealer. I am a HUGE fan of concealer on my lips. You can add it over any color and it will tone it down, or just use it alone with gloss. I used a medium color stick.

Have an amazing Monday .... and the weekend will be here sooner than we know it!
Enjoy!

Messy Hair and CoCo Jumpers....

This Halloween I was Ke$ha and had so much fun with the look. Unfortunately I felt as if I was just myself but more glitter on my face than normal? I used all my own clothes and the only things I bought were feather earrings and a gold necklace that I think I would wear both again.....so it was pretty successful.

Throughout the night I would fall more in love with my hair, even though it's not much different than normal, it was a little more crazy and I had added random braids....
I ended up loving the look so much I decided I was going to keep up with it, maybe more subtle, but I love the random braids and added more hairspray than the usual few sprays....
I personally just don't think I have enough hair to pull it off the right way...
( I would also understand if you don't see a difference than my normal hair... it's just not as structured as it usually is )

I put a lot of salt spray in my hair which really gives it more texture. If you don't want to buy salt spray like me its SO easy to make. Just get a bottle you don't use anymore and add salt, conditioner, water and lemon juice. Shake and use....

This was fun little number I bought in the summer but honestly haven't had the bravery to sport it but I'm going to try to do so tonight. I am partially into jumper or rompers. They are such a hassle sometimes, however I did find this full body jumpsuit and NEEDED to have it.

What do you think?
( P.S. Ha- I just noticed you can see Lemon sleeping in the back! )

Jumper: Billabong- CoCo Jumper

Have a lovely weekend everyone! Sorry I haven't posted as often as I should. Last week was a nightmare with school and one of my best friends come in town ( yay!!!!! ) so I have been kinda busy!
Live it up!

Enjoy!

J to the Crew.....

Today I sported my new J Crew find and I must say that it could be my new favorite piece in my whole wardrobe. The BEST color. The best fit ( finally I can fit into a size SMALL after like, 10 years! ) and I honestly have never really owned a sweater. Isn't that weird? So I'm really excited about it....

I decided to pair this lovely colored sweater with one of my favorite skirts. I don't wear it often, but every time I do I get many compliments. I think that is because many of us haven't seen skirts in this pattern., which is exactly why I bought it.

I love the layered look, which is why I put on a longer grey tank under my sweater. I think it transitions the outfit will. It gives it a softer look. Today I also wore a pair of black tights which is the first of the season. I don't usually wear tights, but I want to get a stock pile of them this season in all different colors.

I wore my flowered mustard yellow shoes to try and compliment the color of the sweater. I for some reason always think that flats with tights look silly, but I tried it out today and maybe it isn't as bad as I always thought..... What do you think?

I chose a pair of my favorite earrings, which are another find from Ten Thousand Villages. They are made from glass and they are absolutely beautiful!

I added a fun long pearl necklace..... to give some length...

Sweater: J Crew
Skirt: Nordstrom Rack- Lucie Rose
Tights: Forever 21
Tank: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Earrings: Ten Thousand Villages
Shoes: TJ Maxx - Nine West

I also wanted to share with you my FAVORITE clothing catalog that just came out with their Winter catalog.... I wanted EVERYTHING on EVERY page. I would do anything to only wear Sundance, I really would..... I mean, don't you just want to be her???

Last quick picture....
My dinner the other night I cooked with bok choy for the FIRST time. I thought it would be weird to cook with, but it was wonderful. I loved it. I have been on such an Asian kick lately so I made rice, veggie and chicken bowls again and they turned out fab!!!!

Enjoy!!!!!!
Have an amazing Wednesday!
P.S. Right when I was about to post this a patient came to me and told me my outfit was darling... :) I think it's the sweater! Ladies... go grab one before they are all gone!

Office Romance....

Most days I come to work I don't feel as if I dressed the part. Maybe I dress too casual or not under dress code but today I feel as if I play the part and play the part well.

I wore one of my favorite ruffle blouses with a great soft blazer. I think that this blazer is so much fun because its more like a sweater than anything. It's comfortable, cute and warm.

I decided to wear a fun and colorful pair of wedges. I think that they add a playful quality to my "office" look :)
I also need to get these out of my closet before the snow comes and I can't wear them at all....

( If you can also see the length of my pant. These are the pants I bought yesterday and shared on my blog the post before. I think they are a very lovable length. Keeps the look youthful.)

I decided on a pair of shell earrings today that my mother gave me earlier this year. I LOVE getting jewelry from my mother that she used to wear. I think its so special :)

They are so beautiful with all of the colors of the shells outside layer. The amazing thing about these earrings is that if you flip them over you can see that they are real shells, not the fake kind you buy these days. They are thick and grindy. I decided I would also add a little more color and "bling" with my gold "love" bracelets. I just love these. Much more fun than any of my others.

I decided to keep my hair down and straiten just the bottom part. I pulled half my bangs to the side and clipped them.

P.S. I'm so happy that my bangs have grown out from the length they were. I can now do things with them :)

Blouse: Macy's
Sweater Blazer: TJ Maxx
Pants: The Gap
Bracelets: Forever 21
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack

Hope once in a while you get to dress like a lady of the office :) It does something to you, makes you feel more professional which add's a type of confidence to your step :)

Enjoy!

Weekend Memories

It's Sunday night and I'm so happy to finally relax. After hours of homework and outings that went into the wee hour mornings I am excited to say it's over.

I am posting a couple outfits I took to the streets this weekend, simple like always, but never boring. (Just FYI, the picture quality is not very good this post. I tried to take photos with very little time at my finger tips.) I also want to show you a few things I picked up from the outlets stores in Park City today to add my blossoming wardrobe.

First, last night I tried a new eye shadow technique I had never tried and I think it turned out pretty well for not having everything I needed to complete the look. I got the idea from a picture of Taylor Swift I had seen on the Internet previously.

Taylors:

My attempt:

I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think? Next time, I think I am going to change it up a little bit and add more dark, but I think it turned out nicely. Perfect look for a night out on the town.

Saturday Night Out
I put this outfit together very quickly, so I wouldn't always go with this combo but it came out very colorful and fun.

( I love this shirt because of how it buttons up from the back. )

I personally think that you can make an outfit look more dressy and interesting just by adding a nice pair of black boots. They made the outfit.

I wore one of my favorite necklaces that my sister gave to me for Christmas a few years back. It's from a store, Ten Thousand Villages, where you can buy pieces of jewelry made from tribes in certain areas in third world countries. They get 100% of the proceeds, which is just amazing. Makes everything worth buying there. If you are interested in going I'll add the address below.

Sunday Outings

Today was the day I went up to Park City to check out the outlet stores and have some good grub. Now, because I knew I would be walking around all day I decided to dress comfortably.

I think that every woman needs a great pair of bell bottom jeans. I mainly wear slim legged jeans, but I think that  bell bottoms add a fun flirty feeling to any outfit you wear around them.

Because this outfit felt a little boring with a plain black tee and jeans I decided to color it up a bit with a fun tie dyed scarf.

It made all the difference.

My New Pieces
I didn't get a ton of things today. My main goal was to find a coat, which came up un successful, but I did find a few pieces I had to have!

J Crew Sweater:
I love this color. When I think about J Crew this color is usually what comes to my mind first. I'm so excited to finally have a piece in this shade.

I loved the little zipper embellishment. It's what kinda sold me on it...

The Gap.
I love The Gap. I used to not be the biggest fan, but I think that they have some great looks.
I got an animal print sweater which I have had my eye on for some time. I have always wanted a cardigan in this pattern but wasn't sure if I could handle the statement it made. I was excited to find this print in a softer color hue.

( Just FYI, I love this!)

I also got a new pair of khaki pants which I think are going to be so fun to wear. They are a very skinny leg and they are a little like high waters. They don't go all the way to the ground which I think will look great with flats.

I hope you all had a great weekend, I know I did. I hope this post gets you excited about all the new fall fashions and you find a few great pieces to add to your wardrobe sometime soon :)

Scarfs and Moccasin time :)

First off, I need another shopping spree. I seem to wear the same clothes week after week due to the fact I don't have a very large wardrobe due to the weight loss. This weekend I will be going to Park City, UT where they have a great selection of outlet stores... which means...more clothes :)
YAY!

Something I love to wear are scarves. It can change the look of an outfit and it makes you look more put together. You can find scarves everywhere too, but I think it's hard to find ones that really fit your style and personality. I usually am safe going with a solid color. With this choice you can always have a chance to wear it.

I decided to wear my yellow scarf today which is such a fun color. Its light, and bright.

You can wear scarves in so many different ways. That's the best part.

The look is ever changing, which makes it much more fun to wear :)

I also finally felt like I could wear my moccasins. I love wearing these, but sometimes it's just too warm, but today was the perfect temperature to sport them. If you don't have a pair, I would buy some. They are worth the money.

They are warm and stylish and personally I don't think the look ever goes out of style.

I pared my outfit with my very favorite and over worn grandma pearl earrings and my dainty knot ring.

Scarf: Tj Maxx
Moccasins: Minnetonka
Earrings, Cover up: Forever 21
Ring: Esty - muffintopdesigns

To end this post I am going to leave you with a picture of this beautiful pumpkin that my girlfriends and I made last weekend.....

So much fun to make and really can sparkle up your home or apt. All you need is a pumpkin, glue and glitter. So easy and cheap and it can really go a long way. You can have them out for 2 months. October and November :)

Have such a fun weekend, and I'll post on Sunday my finds from the weekend :)
Love from Lemon and I :)
